Watched Amol Palekar's Akreit

It was difficult to immediately say anything about Akreit. I have grown to relish Amol Palekar's cinema but it was difficult to say if I enjoyed this one. Not because the movie lacked finesse but because it is difficult to use the verb enjoy for something that is as naked as starkness itself. Something as bare as life. Script is Vijay Tendulkar's. His recent death gave a mysterious contemporary flavour to this 27-year-old film. But then there is nothing mysterious to long-standing tragedies of our nation. It is all so stark that we are always looking for ways to avoid speaking about them. We have lived in this state of denial for so long that we have now lost touch with our own feelings about the obscenities.

What I want to mention here is that how easily this great actor, who also did GOLMAAL, slipped into such a villianous role.
And I also didn't enjoy the movie, but it is a must watch.
You cannot stand such heinousness, thats why it was depicted through expressions on Chitra Palekar's face, in one of the scene.
We have become richer than others who haven't seen this movie.
